About the Cat B 13 December 2004 - D October 2006
Alley Cat was the first feline member of our family, Husband to Blondie and father to Effie, Boofy (still in the family), Squeaky and Lilly (living with aunties) and Stella and Jeffrey Sadly Alley passed away last year before he turned 2 years old after a run in with a car outside our house. He was an excellent Father to his children, always playing and getting involved with them, and an affectionate husband to Blondie. He was a great role model to me, and I often think of him when I am actively in those roles in my own life.
Alley was a conversationalist, he had a unique and inquisitive voice and would gladly engage you in conversation for 10 or so minutes. His most memorable trait was joining the human family at dinner time. We eventually had a seat just for him. His little head would pop up as we commenced dinner at the table, with a little greeting noise he would then reach up to his place mat and eat his little scraps with his paw (to his mouth) - part human I think. I often said I would get him on camera eating from the table with his hands, and send it to Americas funniest home videos, but... sadly I never got around to it... so many opportunities - next time I would say - and mean it... and there was no next time... I learnt from that - take your opportunities when they are there - they may not be there tomorrow... also - don't take things for granted - look around at where you are, who you have in your life... how often do we acknowledge what is special and important to us....?? thanks Alley So anyway - I decided to quickly put together a little cartoon of Alley at the table having dinner with us.... this is what he was like - .
